Salman Shaheen / Senior Account Director

Before joining Apollo, Salman was a journalist and an Editor-in-Chief of two magazines in the current affairs, politics and financial spaces.

Before joining Apollo, Salman Shaheen forged a decade long career as an award-winning journalist who served as Editor-in-Chief of two magazines in the current affairs, politics and financial spaces – The World Weekly and Euromoney’s International Tax Review. He has also written for the Guardian, New Statesman, Huffington Post, Times of India, Morning Star, Lambeth Life, Petroleum Economist and New Internationalist, among many other publications and he has a great deal of experience in broadcast media, often appearing as a commentator on television and radio such as the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, LBC, TalkRADIO, the Islam Channel and TRT World.

Salman’s first ever experience of journalism was as a squeaky-voiced 12 year old appearing as a co-presenter alongside Jon Snow on the Channel 4 children’s news series, First Edition.

Salman graduated with a Double 1st in Social & Political Sciences from Cambridge University and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia.

In his spare time, Salman serves as a councillor on Hounslow London Borough Council.
