Apollo supported Heura with media relations as the bold Spanish plant-based food brand launched into the UK — one of Europe’s most competitive alt-protein markets
From a very young age, the Founders of Heura wanted to be agents of change and create solutions, by offering products that are 100% plant-based, sustainable, healthy and with a WOW flavour.
We helped position Heura not just as another plant-based option, but as a mission-driven challenger with activist roots. Alongside introducing their soy and pea protein-based products to key food industry and retail trade media, we also secured national coverage that captured the founders’ vision and energy.
Our campaign resulted in a BBC Business feature for co-founders Bernat Añaños and Marc Coloma, spotlighting their unconventional strategy: encouraging customers to campaign for supermarket shelf space. Their interview in the CEO Secrets series became a high-impact moment of earned storytelling.
We also shaped the founders’ voices as thought leaders on sustainable food systems, placing opinion pieces in national media that argued for boosting UK-grown vegetable protein in a post-Brexit economy. From product to politics, our work helped establish Heura as a vocal, values-led disruptor—fueling not just plant-based eating, but plant-powered change.
