Millennium Technology Prize

Apollo publicise the biennial Millennium Technology Prize, Europe’s leading science & tech award

The Millenium Prize is one of the world’s leading technology prizes – and has an august array of past winners including Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web and Professor Shuji Nakamura, inventor of the blue laser.

Apollo were appointed by Technology Academy Finland (TAF) as their Global communications agency to publicise the Prize. We ensured that the nomination in 2012 of stem cell pioneer Dr Shinya Yamanka and open source software engineer Linus Torvalds were covered throughout the world’s media – especially among the scientific and technical community. The interest we had created in the nominations process ensured that, when the prize-winners were finally announced in June, there was global media coverage.

Our team of media experts across the world helped raise the profile of the prize to its rightful place as one of the most important international science prizes, with several hundred media hits in across Europe, the US and Asia.

Apollo have worked with the communications team at Technology Academy Finland to get to a wide audience across Europe, the US and Asia, securing coverage in some of the world's most prestigious media outlets
