The Future Society
Apollo worked with The Future Society to help launch the Red Lines for AI initiative, a landmark campaign unveiled during the 80th United Nations General Assembly urging governments to reach an international agreement on red lines for AI, ensuring they are operational, with robust enforcement mechanisms, by the end of 2026.
AI could soon far surpass human capabilities and escalate a range of systemic and security risks – from undermining global stability to eroding human agency and control – that demand clear international boundaries and safeguards. During our collaboration with The Future Society, a nonprofit organisation working on AI governance, Apollo led the global media strategy for the launch of the initiative, positioning Red Lines for AI as the definitive framework for identifying and responding to these frontier AI risks.
During our collaboration with The Future Society we engaged with key media, and secured broad coverage across policy, tech, human rights and mainstream outlets across the globe.
The launch generated more than 300 pieces of media coverage, including in The New York Times, BBC, El País, Le Monde, The Hindu, Radio Television Hong Kong, among many others. The campaign reframed the AI safety conversation at a crucial moment, elevated The Future Society’s role as a central voice in global AI governance, and helped shape the political context in which future regulation will be debated.
“Apollo’s team proved their ability to secure significant media attention even with limitations of tight deadlines and shifting variables. The team is very responsive and resourceful, and I would certainly work with them again and recommend them to other nonprofit organizations. They share strong insights into how to get media attention and traction, and consistently deliver with the strength of their relationships and persistence. ”
